About US

Coming Summer 2025, Malisa Smith has purchased two adjacent wooded private lots in Joppa, Maryland, for the purpose of building two luxurious residential 10,000 sq. ft. homes in two phases. We want to make our home your home. Owned and managed by Malisa Smith, a registered nurse for over 35 years, and her daughter Colleen Gilotte, also a nurse.

‍The first home construction will begin in May 2024. Each home will accommodate 16 residents with private rooms and private bathrooms. The home will be surrounded by the natural beauty of wooded private land with a large covered front porch for our residents to enjoy the fresh country air, a holistic approach to living a purposeful life filled with meaning, joy, and dignity.

The founder

Meet Malisa Smith, RN

Graceful Journey Holistic Assisted Living home has been a dream of mine for many years. As a registered nurse with 35 years ofexperience in the health care industry, including acute care and home care, 25years as a hospice nurse, and years of experience in business management andmarketing, I understand the need for good, quality holistic care for seniors.

I became a nurse so I could make a difference in the lives of others. For the past 25 years, I have supported patients and families so they know they are not alone and can get through anything. As a hospice nurse, I have helped patients maintain dignity at some of the most vulnerable times in their lives. Managing patients' pain and symptoms at the end of life has been an honor and privilege.

I decided to open my own assisted living home because of my love and passion for seniors. I know how to give our seniors the quality holistic care they deserve. My goal is to provide personalized individual careso seniors can be as independent as possible for as long as possible. I’m committed to helping every resident live a life of purpose with grace!
